Reviews for Moongate Cafe
Review highlights
Based on 473 reviewsMoongate Cafe in Las Cruces is widely praised for its flavorful and diverse menu, particularly notable for hearty breakfast options and unique dishes like Indian Fry Bread Tacos. Customers frequently highlight the accommodating and friendly service, with special requests welcomed. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere is described as lively, though sometimes a bit loud due to the intimate space. Portions tend to be on the smaller side for larger appetites, but affordable pricing compensates well. The cafe appeals to both locals and travelers, offering an inviting environment with consistently satisfying food, making it a favored spot for casual dining and special occasions alike.
I tend to stop here for an early, delicious, and filling breakfast on the weekends. The menu is substantial, and they are more than accommodating special requests. I would have to recommend the chicken fried steak fingers (with options of gravies and sauces) and the open faced tacos on fried bread (Indian Fry Bread Tacos). Two of the items I show here (though I added two sunny side up eggs to my ground beef taco). So good!Service is excellent even when busy, which happens as it is a small diner, but they do a great job of making sure refreshments are topped up.Decor is typical of an old school diner, and seating is comfortable. There are also specials throughout the week, but again, I go on the weekends.
Excellent service, interesting crowd and delicious food. We ordered one of the best veggie quesadillas we’ve had in a long time! They also serve decaf.
My mom Ann Hayes loved your food so much! We're going to eat there 3/23/25 for her Heavenly Birthday
Came from Utah and stopped for lunch. Amazing service and great food. The atmosphere is a little louder considering the small space but it was great. Portions are a little smaller for big eaters so i got two plates. The prices are super amazing. Very cheap!! 12/10 would recommend.
Great place to eat, and the food there is excellent. Very friendly service. A must go if you live here or traveling.
Cute, cozy spot, met up with a friend for lunch and tried the fry bread with hamburger meat and a side of red chile. Food was tasty and the staff were friendly! Will definitely go again!
Came here on our way to White Sands. Super friendly and helpful waitress, amazing chicken fried steak and huevos rancheros. Pie was to die for. Place is small but homy and definitely worth a stop if nearby.
Great out of the way place to eat. Menu features everything from Burgers a day Fries, to Breakfast and even he cooked Mexican food.Don't blink. It's easy to miss. Just don't mistake it's small footprint with poor food and or service. Wait staff is great, and very personal. They can make you feel at home seconds after waking through the door.
